Have a happy Monday!

Just looking through some devotionals and this one seemed encouraging. To just remember that no matter what, Christ is in me. :)

Colossians 1:27-28

God has chosen you to make known among the Gentiles the
glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We
proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may
present everyone perfect in Christ.

Thoughts on today's verse
Christ lives in me. Until I can become completely like him through the power of the Spirit (2 Cor 3:18), he lives in me. Until I can go home to be with him he lives in me (John14:1-21). Everywhere I go and everything I do, he is with me.

Prayer:
O God, may the presence of Jesus within me stir me to your work today. May your abiding grace, through the presence of your gracious Son, call me to your character and your concerns. O Jesus, please make my heart like our Father's. Amen.

Just a reminder: We are starting a new book for our bible study this week! So come to Heather and Emily's house on Tuesday at 7PM. Email for more information!

Happy Friday

I just wanted to remind y'all that Discovery Sunday is this Sunday from 3-6PM. :)

Also I received this in an email and just thought I'd post it here. If you want to help, you may have to send it priority mail but if you have an old prom or bridesmaid dress (tux for the guys) lying around, you might think about it.

Red Lake, a high school in MN that was the site of the most recent school shooting last month, will be holding it's prom on April 30th. School is back in session but students are afraid to return and the pain still surrounding the community is great. Currently only about a third of the students are attending classes. Officials are hoping that opening up the prom to all students in the high school will allow them to come back to the school for a happy event that will help to give them new and more positive memories of their school. But one thing will stop a lot of these students from attending. Red Lake is one of the poorest communities in MN. Most of the students will not have money to purchase new dresses or rent tuxedos for this event. If you have any tuxes, shoes (men's or women's), dresses/gowns, costume jewelry, hair clips or anything prom or ball worthy... and you could find it in your heart to donate it, I know that it would do them all a WORLD of good. If you are feeling VERY helpful and giving, donations can be sent directly to:

Happy Friday!

Hope y'all have had a great week... a change has been made to this weekend's festivities.

Apparently, Hastings wasn't ready for the masses that were going to swarm the store to hear 2 Ate 9 tomorrow. So they've been cancelled to play tomorrow night.

BUT we still have the yummy dinner tonight at 7PM at Chili's and as a bonus, watching a couple of movies at Heather and Emily's house afterwards!

Hope to see y'all tonight!

Technology is a blessing and a curse...

Well, let's give this post another try. I've been having some technical difficulties and lost my novel from yesterday...

We hope to see some new faces at the bible study tonight. It's been great seeing numbers add to our group and people becoming more and more of a regular each week! We had a great weekend watching movies and competing over "who's the best" (or was it worse??) bowler! And Jennifer knows how to make some good fajitas too!

Be sure to continue checking the calendar for new events... We've added a dinner at Chili's for next week!

I have a verse I wanted to share... I don't know if any of you struggle with not exactly knowing what direction in life God wants you to go. Lately, I've been struggling with the general topics in life: Job, love, ministry, and this verse really spoke to me. Its so good reading God's word and knowing that no matter what or why, God plays an active part in our life. And even better, that if we seek Him, we'll be blessed even if it's not exactly what we had in mind.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him.

~1 Corinthians 2:9

See y'all tonight and don't get blown away!

Finally, its Friday!

Has anyone else had a very long week? Seems that way to me! I'm glad its Friday and that the weather will be nice this weekend!

Well, for the girls in the singles ministry, tonight is Girl's Night! We'll be meeting at Heather and Emily's house tonight. So feel free to bring a snack and your favorite movie. The "festivities" will begin at 7PM. It should be a lot of fun!

Tomorrow night is dinner and bowling. We'll be meeting up at Jennifer's house for some yummy fajitas at 6PM. Afterwards, we'll head out to Classic Lanes on 34th and Slide. Hope to see y'all there!

Don't forget the time change this weekend and that THF now has 3 services. 8:30-9:45-11AM

Hope to see y'all and have a great weekend!
